As the snow sprinkled down while we welcomed delegates to Connections Luxury in Italy, it was clear we were going to experience Siena in a completely unconventional way!

And, on our last day together, as we enjoyed lunch at the La Bagnaia Golf and Spa Resort Siena’s club house, the powder had melted into these beautiful patches of white all over the green sloping hills – and everyone reached for their phones to take pictures and capture it.

Our official groundhandler, Italy Luxury Travel handled the challenging weather impeccably. Giulio, you did such an excellent job, and we absolutely loved working with you!

I also have to commend Flavio from ENIT Italian Tourist Board who, despite an extremely difficult journey made such an effort to be with us in Siena, and we’re so glad he made it! Flavio, your support for Connections and belief in us means so much, thank you for everything.

I found our Connections Group Discussions on the topic of overtourism utterly fascinating. It makes me really proud to sit with you all and hear how much experience and wisdom we have in our network of buyers and suppliers. Together, I think we covered some really interesting points. Thank you to Toby Nicol from the World Travel and Tourism Council for sparking the debate!

To see what we got up to, take a look at the fantastic video for Connections Luxury in Italy, created by Action Video – Giovanni and Luca, thank you for doing such an excellent job and creating this memento for us!

My heartfelt thanks goes out to Nadia Colaiuda from Italy My Way – what an experience provider you have been! Thanks to you, we had the hugely entertaining ConnecTalk from sommelier to the stars, Filippo Bartollota, we spend the evening in the medieval home of a Tuscan wine producer, and we enjoyed a private performance in L’Accademia Chigiana music academy in the heart of Siena, which was just heavenly. You are such a talented professional, thanks so much to you and your team for bringing the best of Italy to the event.
