Just before my arrival at the Connections Meetings event in Tuscany last week, I managed to find the time to visit La Bagnaia Golf & Spa Resort in Siena. I was keen to do a site visit in preparation for our next Connections Luxury event to be held in Siena in February 2018 – and I am so glad I did!
La Bagnaia is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton – one of the founding members of Connections – and we are delighted to be back and to have discovered such a charming venue to host our Siena event.
Situated in the most idyllic surroundings among the wooded, rolling hills of Tuscany in what was once a medieval village, the resort retains much of its authenticity and charm. Set across various buildings to preserve the atmosphere of the original village, each of the guest rooms and suites are unique and feature selected art and tapestries and antique furnishings, which create exclusive inviting spaces to retreat.
Amenities include a prestigious 18 hole golf courses, an exclusive Spa, featuring an indoor and outdoor thermal pool, and a wonderful pool bar. Dining options include an authentic Tuscan Bistro or the elegant fine dining of La Voliera Restaurant with its magnificent terrace with views over the surrounding countryside.
I enjoyed a wonderful dinner, hosted by the General Manager Dario Stefani, who I would like to thank for his hospitality and thoughtful gifts. The Clarins creams are a joy to use and the delicious Cantucci I have enjoyed with a Vin Santo (or two), since my return to London. I have to say, though, I would far rather be sitting on the terrace of La Bagnaia, sipping my wine by candlelight, overlooking the rooftops of Siena…
Just before I had to leave, I managed to take a lovely walk around the grounds of the resort on a beautiful crisp November morning, against the backdrop of a stunning azure sky and the deep, earthy green of the Tuscan countryside. It was a magical moment of peace and serenity – savoured briefly, before I had to dash off to Firenze for connections Meetings Tuscany! I am delighted that Dario was able to join us for a day too, so he could experience the Connections way of doing things and learn more about us.
