As Slovenia is the destination for the inaugural Connections Adventure – our new event series for 2018 – I flew over there to experience what the country has to offer for high-end adventure travellers. 

My first stop was our wonderful host hotel, the five-star Intercontinental Ljubljana. I loved the chic, contemporary design of the rooms, the huge marble bathrooms and amazing views across the city.

I enjoyed a warm welcome from our lovely partners and sponsors for Connections Adventure in Slovenia. Here I am with Mattej Valnecic from Luxury Slovenia (our official DMC and groundhandler), Zsofia Arvay from Intercontinental Ljubljana (our host hotel), Mladen Ljubisic from the Slovenian Tourist Board (our country partner) and Matej Knific, also from Luxury Slovenia DMC.

We spent a really fun evening together and afterwards, we tucked into some fantastic local cuisine in Ljubljana, it was heaven!

Check out these hearty plates of food – so indulgent, and utterly delicious. And the Slovenian wines we tasted were also exceptional.

As many of you may know, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, B – headed up by Michelin star chef Alfredo Russo – serves seasonal dishes, each one a work of art. And, being on the top floor, it’s a great way to see Ljubljana from above, and look out over the rooftops.
