Toscana Resort Castelfalfi is the host venue Connections Meetings in Italy. The resort’s general manager, Isidoro di Franco, reveals what’s waiting for delegates at this rather special Tuscan venue.

What makes Toscana Resort Castelfalfi such a special MICE destination?

“Toscana Resort Castelfalfi is a medieval village in the heart of Tuscany, close to the main Tuscan airports, carefully restored to maintain its original character and to welcome guests looking for an authentic Tuscan experience.

“A spectacular estate that boasts 800 years of history and over 1,000 hectares of pristine nature, it is now experiencing a renaissance, thanks to a sustainable recovery operation, bringing new life to a place that evokes the charm of the rhythms of the old countryside, among thousand-year-old olive groves and hundred-year-old vineyards and woods, moments away from the artistic and cultural treasures of Tuscany.”

“The resort offers guests a four-star and a five-star hotel, three restaurants and the most spectacular golf course in Italy – which is the the biggest in Tuscany, with 27 holes.”

“In the heart of the estate’s medieval village, the castle was entirely renovated and opened in 2014. Now, it’s home to La Rocca, the gourmet restaurant of the resort, as well as rooms for weddings, banquets, meetings and unique events. The Castle boasts beautiful terraces overlooking the Tuscan countryside and the golf course, which can accommodate events and banquets for hundreds of guests.

“Just a few steps away from the Castle, Il Castelfalfi – Tui Blue Selection is the new five-star hotel inaugurated in March 2017. It offers 120 rooms and suites that convey the true essence of Tuscany, plus a fine-dining restaurant, a plenary hall, and three fully-equipped meeting rooms with the latest technology, a gym and a 1000 sqm spa.

Next to the hotel, we also have a former factory where tobacco was dried for Tuscan cigars, which has found a new life as a four-star boutique hotel, La Tabaccaia. Each of the delightful 30 rooms has restored beams and terracotta ceilings. There are two rooms for up to 50 guests, and the wide lobby area may be closed and equipped for meetings and conferences up to 155 guests.

“The estate also houses many “casali” – traditional country villas and apartments – available for rental, which multiply the possible locations for both leisure and business events.”

What experiences can you arrange?

“Castelfalfi is the ideal destination to host incentives and teambuilding. Guests can get back in touch with nature and do lots of activities as they please: hiking, cycling, wine tastings in the cellars, cooking classes and golf.”

“We’ve hosted international events with guests from all over the world: intimate gatherings, colorful, huge Indian weddings, business trips with meetings and teambuilding activities, incentives, product lunches– especially for car brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

“This year, thanks to our special partnership with Mercedes-Benz, we had the pleasure of hosting the final tournament of the Mercedes Trophy 2017, one of the most important amateur golf circuits in the world, which brought numerous VIPs from all over Italy and Europe to Castelfalfi.”

What does it meant to you to host Connections Meetings?

“It represents the greatest opportunity for Toscana Resort Castelfalfi. We will have the chance to greatly boost our visibility on the MICE market as a brand new luxury location and at the same time put our high quality services and facilities to the test. And at Toscana Resort Castelfalfi, we do a love challenge!”
