Here I am teeing off for a round of golf.
I’m not on my own though — I’m having a private lesson with top golfer, David Waters, Verdura Resort‘s Head Golf Professional.
With three Kyle Phillips-designed courses (2x 18 holes, 1x 9 holes), golf-loving guests are absolutely spoilt for choice. You can, for example, get a quick 30 minutes by just playing 4 holes by the sea. Now that is what I’ve got my eye on for a Connections Experience activity. That would be ideal. I’m also thinking about the putting green and the practice range as excellent venues for some Connections activities — they are the perfect place for our delegates to create a memorable experience together whilst discussing business.
Back to my teacher for today, golf professional David Waters. He used to work at the famous Sunningdale Golf Club in England where Sir Rocco Forte is a member. The Head Professional at Sunningdale, Keith Maxwell, was telephoned and asked if any of his professionals would be interested in applying to work in Sicily at the Verdura Resort. David applied for the position, was successful and he’s been working at Verdura for 6 years now!
And what a location to work at!
The courses are wonderful. Having the sea breeze really makes the place so unique and distinguished.
I have to say thank you to David for helping me perfect my swing. Sadly… as you might expect, David’s own swing is perfect!
