Tuscany is on the ‘must visit’ list of many an international traveller, but those looking to do so in style should certainly consider the Toscana Resort Castelfalfi for the ultimate in accommodation whilst there.
In 2007 the German company TUI AG, a multinational travel and tourism company, purchased the entire village of Tenuta de Castelfalfi in the heart of the Tuscany region of Italy. The 800-year-old medieval village together with 4 square miles of land, a 3-star hotel, 18-hole golf course, olive groves, vineyards and several crumbling villas were all included in the sale as was the condition that TUI restore the only building they were not allowed to purchase – the church.
Today, the Toscana Resort Castelfalfi is a thriving collection of different concepts. The 31 room 4-star La Tabaccaia hotel, the interior of which is sympathetic to the age of the old renovated tobacco barn, with wood beam ceilings and simple furniture with clean lines, has all the modern amenities of a 4-star hotel, as well as a modern fully equipped meeting room perfect for up to 30 guests. The resort boasts a restaurant, a Trattoria and a 27-hole golf course amongst its other amenities.
Their newest project is the Il Castelfalfi, a one of a kind showcase 5-star hotel that is expected to open in March 2017. The 120 rooms in the hotel, which will be decorated in a simple yet elegant style, will offer all the modern amenities travellers would expect from a 5-star accommodation, and will feature either terraces or private garden areas. The 3 storey hotel which will be a certified Clima hotel has been designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, and is being built following green building principles using low environment impact material, with great attention being paid to its energy efficiency and waste management. Guests will not only be able to make use of all the facilities in the new hotel but also those of the existing parts of the resort.
Travel buyers will be able to create a totally immersive Tuscan experience for their guests thanks to Toscana Resort Castelfalfi’s diverse array of amenities, from the cooking school to the wine tasting from the estates vineyard, the wellness complex and salt and ice cave spa treatments of the new hotel, or even nearby truffle hunting.
